💭 A Brief Reflection

My time at the Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS), Government College University Lahore, played a pivotal role in shaping my academic and professional career. During my studies, I had the privilege of learning from distinguished professors from Europe, the United States, and Russia, which exposed me to diverse mathematical perspectives and high standards of research. Beyond academic training, SMS provided me with international recognition and valuable professional connections. I vividly recall an experience during my visit to the University of Oslo, Norway, when a renowned mathematician recognized the reputation of SMS even before I mentioned my academic background. He remarked that he was familiar with the prestige of the institute and noted that his colleague, Professor Laudal, had visited SMS. This encounter highlighted the global standing of the school and its influence within the international mathematical community. The networks and collaborations I have established with foreign scholars are largely a result of my association with SMS. Looking back, I consider it a great privilege and honor to have earned my PhD from SMS. Had I pursued my doctoral studies elsewhere, I would have missed the unique academic environment and opportunities that SMS provided.
