It is my pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences, Government College University Lahore.
Established in 2003, ASSMS is committed to advancing postgraduate education, research, innovation, and capacity building in the mathematical sciences. The School provides an intellectually stimulating environment where students, researchers, faculty members, and distinguished scholars from Pakistan and abroad contribute to the development of mathematics and its applications.
ASSMS regularly organizes seminars and lectures by eminent national and international speakers, thematic research schools, conferences, workshops, and specialised academic programmes. Through nationwide calls, the School invites proposals for thematic schools and research projects, bringing together national and international teams of resource persons to promote advanced training, collaborative research, and academic networking.
The School is also developing mathematics competitions and Olympiad activities for students from school to university level. These initiatives aim to identify and nurture mathematical talent, strengthen problem-solving skills, and encourage a culture of academic excellence across Pakistan.
Our free summer mini-courses and skill-oriented programmes are open to students, researchers, academicians, professionals, and participants from industry throughout the country. These programmes cover emerging and interdisciplinary areas, including artificial intelligence, data science, financial mathematics, computational methods, and other applications of mathematics relevant to academia, technology, banking, and industry.
ASSMS continues to host distinguished international visitors and organize academic events involving leading members of the global mathematical community. The School also seeks to strengthen Pakistan’s participation and representation in major international mathematical forums and institutions, including the International Mathematical Union, the European Mathematical Society, the International Mathematics Master initiative, and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics.
Through its academic programmes, research initiatives, national outreach, and international collaborations, ASSMS remains dedicated to strengthening mathematical sciences in Pakistan and creating meaningful opportunities for future generations.
I invite students, researchers, academicians, professionals, and partner institutions to explore our programmes and join us in advancing mathematical knowledge, research, and innovation.
